LEORA’S PHILOSOPHY
My clients are individuals or small businesses who find themselves embroiled in all manner of legal disputes, ranging from neighborhood nuisances to complex issues of contractual interpretation, implementation and breach; to technology licensing issues. Product liability, business interference, fraud, negligence and other tortuous conduct are often included in civil lawsuits. Personal injury and property damage make up the remainder of my practice.

He or she is best served by understanding the basic legal principles concerning his or her matter. I do not withhold information in an effort to enhance my own self importance. I believe that everyone has the capacity to grasp the consequences of whatever law applies to his dispute, if properly advised.
Civil litigation is often emotionally as well as financially taxing. An individual involved in a lawsuit for the first time is like a tourist in a foreign country. What does it all mean? Where do we go from here? My job is to make the trip easier and, if at all possible, to assist in avoiding the judiciary altogether. A client with a rudimentary understanding of applicable legal principles is more likely to adopt realistic settlement expectations. The services I provide do not remain a mystery to my clients, particularly unfathomable when monthly statements arrive. Instead, I keep my clients well informed and ask them to participate in resolving their disputes: in brain storming ideas and tactics, information gathering, investigations and documentary control.
Once a crisis is dealt with, I encourage my clients to take all steps necessary to prevent similar situations from reoccurring. This can involve drafting legal agreements which can be used and recycled by a client for his future business needs. This can also involve personal meetings and detailed discussions of scenarios (pitfalls and red flags) to be wary of the next time around.
A client who is knowledgeable, kept informed on a regular basis and participates in his own representation is a happy client. A happy client means referrals and thus an automatic win-win situation.
